Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are autoantibodies formed against parts of types of white blood cell known as neutrophils and monocytes. ANCA testing is usually undertaken if rare disorders known as Wegener's granulomatosis and microscopic polyangiitis are suspected.

Included in each test for Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies are a Doctors Referral, all Phlebotomy fees (your blood taken at a Private Hospital), all laboratory fees and includes our GP comments.

Laboratory Notes: Please note, in line with national guidelines, the testing laboratory have updated their laboratory testing pathway for investigation of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV). First-line testing for AAV is now performed with quantification of anti-MPO and anti-PR3 antibodies by EliA methods. If positive, confirmation testing will be performed by indirect immunofluorescence.
