Included in every test request for Catecholamines are a Doctors Referral, all laboratory fees and includes our GP comments.
Inclusions: Normetadrenaline, metadrenaline and 3-methoxytyramine
Special Instructions: Random urine accepted for paediatrics and random code should be used for all paediatrics aged <12 years. During urine collection the following should be avoided: vigorous exercise, excessive nicotine and coffee intake, ingestion of chilli, curry leaves and supraphysiological doses of vitamin-C. Acidify a 20ml aliquot and give 24h vol. Store acidified aliquot refrigerated.

Sample Container: Min 20 mL aliquot of 24 hr collection.
Fasting: If fasting is required, it will be explained on your Pathology Passport. 8 hours fasting is sufficient when it is required.
