This serotonin blood test measure the amount of serotonin in the blood - it is tested to diagnose a carcinoid tumour. Possible symptoms of a carcinoid tumour may be diarrhoea, wheezing or flushing. The serotonin test may be requested as a follow up from previous 5-HIAA testing.
